TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

Membership is by application. The types of individual membership for Consultants relates firstly to the degree to which the member is involved in the consulting profession and secondly to the education, business experience and consulting experience of the member. The types of membership follow:

Associate

An individual who has recently committed to consulting and who has limited consulting / business experience. The designation for an Associate is AIOCSA.

Member

An individual who firstly has a minimum of 3 years consulting experience, who secondly has an additional 3 years business or consulting experience and who lastly has also spent another 3 years at least, either consulting, in business or completing a recognised tertiary degree. The designation for a full Member is MIOCSA.

Fellow

An individual who has been a paid-up, full Member of the Institute for 3 consecutive years. The designation for Fellow is FIOCSA.

Affiliate

An individual who is involved in consulting but who is not a paid-up member of the Institute. An Affiliate is recognised as a member of the consulting community but will have limited access to the benefits received by paid-up members. There is no designation for an Affiliate.

Individuals who register with the Institute will be offered an initial 6 months free membership at the Associate level. This will allow them to access all the benefits on offer to Associate Members including the ability to populate their Consulting Profile which will allow them to be found by Clients.
